Happy New Year

Happy new year to you. Hope Christmas and the holidays were good and you are ready for more challenges in the next year, as we are..
Blog updates have been sporadic due to health issues, but we are all sorted now and here is an update from December..

We lowered Paul's beam a couple of weeks ago and then he brought the car in for an MOT. His oval will be receiving the first of our 5" narrowed beams with shock towers soon. Steve brought in his Porsche 356 engine. It has been sitting for over 35 years, but once checked over we had it running on the bench with Steve looking on - nerve wracking stuff, but we needn't have worried. It purrs like a kitten and will be serviced and re-fitted to the newly painted car as it sits.
We finally got in the prototype rear window stickers. They look good and only need a couple of small changes.
Caroline's 62 Beetle came in for some MOT work. Original RHD, never restored and pretty solid..
Dave's beetle received a new front valance and wing. We collected 'project free GTI'... It needs the head re-fitting and the interior drying out (window left open!) then we hope to do a John o Groats to Lands End run to test it out..
...together with this! Have you ever bought a cheap winter runaround and ended up lavishing more attention on it than the 'nice' car it is supposed to stand in for?Steve's Karmann Mobil goes for an MOT [finally]
Mark's £150 beetle gets an MOT, drop spindles and a 1 spline drop at the rear and is sold on to someone with more time... with 6 cars something had to give. This means more time to finish the project bus!
Although we now have 2 more 'projects' waiting to be collected in Austria. Baltic winter adventure to follow..!
61 Beetle...
..and 73 panel van.
